How this program can help you to become a resident in New Zealand?
Under the Care Workforce Sector Agreement, graduates have a valuable pathway to residency in New Zealand. After completing your studies, NZMA helps you secure employment in the caregiving field. Most students are eligible for a work visa of up to 5 years, allowing them to gain hands-on experience. By working as a caregiver for at least 2 years and earning a minimum of $29.25 per hour, you may qualify to apply for Permanent Residency through the Care Workforce pathway.

Admission Requirements
To qualify academically, you need a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. For English proficiency, you must achieve an IELTS Academic score of at least 5.5 overall, with no band below 5.0, or an equivalent score in tests such as TOEFL iBT or PTE Academic.

Yes! You can work up to 25 hours per week during your studies.
Can I bring my family?
To access family benefits like a spouse work permit and free education for children, you must be enrolled in a Level 9 Master’s program or equivalent in New Zealand. At this level, your partner can apply for an open work visa, and children aged 5 and above can attend public schools as domestic students.
